I began my design career after earning a B.A. in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University. Early roles on marketing and creative teams at companies like Fathom, Texas A&M University, Schneider's Saddlery, and LeafFilter gave me a strong foundation in visual storytelling, brand systems, and cross-functional collaboration.
These experiences sharpened my design craft and taught me how to deliver business-aligned creative at scale.
At FieldPulse, I stepped into the role of Brand Experience Designer. While my work was still visually driven, I started collaborating more closely with product and engineering teams, helping shape parts of the digital experience.
This was my first real taste of working with a product team and it sparked a growing curiosity about how design could improve usability, not just aesthetics.
Joining Concept as a Marketing Specialist opened the next chapter. I was embedded in tools and systems every day—taking notes, sketching ideas, and identifying where the user experience could be better. I wasn’t just designing around problems—I was itching to solve them.
That hands-on exposure to real user pain points made it clear: product design wasn’t just something I was interested in. It is where I thrive.
Leadership at Concept recognized my growing product mindset and promoted me to UI/UX Designer. I took the lead on improving digital experiences across web and email, focusing on usability, conversion, and engagement.
To deepen my expertise, I completed MIT xPRO’s Building and Designing Products certification. That opened the door to an opportunity with Google. A short-term marketing contract, full of uncertainty. Although an opportunity with a dream company, I was determined to shift my career into product.
I made the difficult decision to turn the contract down for comfortability, stability only to be laid off soon after.
The afternoon I was laid off, I called my former Chief Product Officer who always believed in my potential. Without hesitation, he welcomed me into Root Ventures, where I stepped into an apprenticeship built on learning by doing. A crash course in product management, grounded in real work, thoughtful mentorship, and a shared commitment to building impactful products built on foundational truths.
Today I continuing to shape the future of AI-powered tools that don’t just impress, but truly serve. I’m building with purpose; rooted in trust, guided by users, and fueled by the belief that the right next step often starts with a conversation.
